Hi, what happened could be something as simple as bumping a toy, dust, or seed shell under one of the eye lids. If it were one of mine I would use saline eye drops to wash away debris and give some relief. If it gets worse take your bird to an avian vet right away.

Saline eye drops only!

Hello! I have washed her eye twice with the saline, once earlier and an hour ago. I wasn't sure about how many times I should do that but she hates it. So far I haven't seen any difference but she is her usual self eating, playing, chirping... I tried to take a picture but could not take one good enough to see the eye and she wouldn't stop moving. I guess I will know more tomorrow.

@Paula You have so many beautiful budgies, what an adorable picture!!!!! What is that toy budgie back there?

Hi, is she acting like the eye is irritated? If the redness does not clear up by morning call your AV and take her in if need be. Hopefully after a good nights sleep the redness will subside.

I agree with Gary --- if the eye still looks bad tomorrow, she should be seen by an avian vet. Hopefully it's just a temporary irritation, but if not, an infection could set in.

Thanks! Do you mean the green birdy hanging from the top rail of the playgym? That's a wooden Quaker parrot/monk parakeet toy. The girls usually ignore it, but I think it's cute. ;)

Hi Gary! I checked in the morning and it seem to recede a little but it did not clear up completely. She does not seem bother by it at all. At lunch time I could not see anything, my vision was blurry because of a eye appointment. I don't know what to do... I will try to post some pics so you guys can give me an opinion. The vet is really close by and if necessary I will take her right away.

I guess this one is better, sorry about that, I am still learning how to post pics... And yeah, it does not seem to be directly in the eye bit in the eye lid.

From the looks, it could be a "hit" from a toy...you how they get really playing and swinging etc and it hits them a certain way....I think it should be fine..it doesn't look swollen or half an eye shut type of thing....
