Hi, I'm new to the forums. I have a 4 month old lineolated parakeet named Cricket. I had him on my shoulder and I was sitting at the computer. He jumped down and got his nail stuck between two keys. He pulled himself free, but the edge of one of his nails looks bruised....like if you were to smash your finger and have the blood under your nail. He was holding his foot up for a few minutes, but now he seems fine. He isn't favoring it or limping or anything...he's walking and climbing just fine now. Should I still take him to see a vet or just give it a few days to see if it heals on its own?

Thanks for any replies.

Welcome to the Avenue:hug8:If it is not bothering him,I would just keep an eye on the nail/toe.If it starts to bother him Take him to an Avian Vet!

I agree totally, if he seems ok with it now and is not favoring it, then a vet visit is not needed..however, if he starts to favor it again, please take him in.
