Baby Kakariki has picked up a habit of biting. He likes my earrings however on occasion will just chomp my ear. same with my fingers. What do? How can I prevent this and correct it. I don’t purposefully shove my fingers near him but if I ask for step up he will bite. Has started to bite hard.

What works for me was saying ow in a louder sort of high-pitched voice. Or yelping or just making a noise that makes it very clear that what they just did was uncomfortable, and then put them down somewhere and walk away from them.

I don't ware earrings around my parrots, to much temptation! ;)

I'd stop working on step up right now. And focus on bonding and trust. I e often had step evolve naturally without every doing step up training.. but if he is biting an offered hand it's likely you are rushing things.
