They didn't get any, the dog got it all :) My husband was worried they would cut themselves with the shells.
Dirk loved it so much, we couldn't deprive him.

I give mine steamed blue crab and they love it. I just crack the leg a little and them let them do the rest.

All shell fish has high cholesteral and salt. But that said, I always try to keep in mind what Dr. Driggers said when I was going to cut Jasper down to no fats/salt because of her CHF. He told me there isn't much sense in being alive if you can't live - so give her a Frito now and then. She is happy and alive and I am happy for her.

My kids grew up being told mangoes were an acquired adult taste. (cruel mum, heheheh, hubby used to bring one home for me) Once they were grown and did their own shopping I got a couple of irate phone calls asking me what other childhood myths I had ready to be busted. I told them hundreds!

Same thing with crab, it is MINE, ALL MINE.

They (the birds) have had shreds of steamed trout and loved it, lol.

Really nice to have a vet who considers all sides of the coin. It's not all about science and overcoming the grim reaper - it is also about happiness and quality of life. H&J ar so stinking happy as long as they have their 24/7 slave. Dr. D keeps me from becoming a total basket case and eating my 38.

Any of the white fish and salmon (in moderation) is especially good for us and the birds. Just keep in mind that the birds' digestive system is not engineered to digest animal protien (moderation again) and if you have a bird with liver or kidney issues DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY ANIMAL PROTIEN. Basically never any shellfish - clams, oysters etc.

My 38 caliber revolver (nice one that is a family heirloom). Never had to use it in my accounting practice - although I felt like it occasionally.
