Hi everyone. Apologies if I am not posting this message in the correct place. Today I have just noticed that my budgie has overgrown his bic
I have no idea how this happened since he had calcium bones to chew on and I always saw him to be normal until today.
Question is what can I do or can a vet do something ? 20210713_203901.jpg

Your bird needs to see a vet and have that beak trimmed ASAP. Depending how long it’s taken to get that length you may also want a proper full health check done.
It needs to be trimmed by a knowledgeable vet so it’s done correctly and with minimal discomfort to your bird.

This bird needs to see a avian vet. The beak is extremely overgrown and will needs caution trimming.

Many times an over grown beak is indicative of liver disease. Liver disease can be managed and in some cases cured. When you take him to the vet ask about the possibility of liver disease.

Coco looks much better now and happily eating . Unfortunately there was no aviary experts within a 200 km radius from where I live. We have to do it ourselves using a dog nail clipper after watching a few helpful YouTube videos. The Beak was trimmed but not sharpened.
