Hi everyone!
I wanted to get into sprouting for my flock and was going to purchase the kit of the Sprout People but just went to checkout and noticed they don't ship to Canada :( I know I can put together my own mixes (although I'm not sure of the whole list that is good for parrots) but I really wanted to start with a mix to see what my parrots like. Anyone have a place they buy from in Canada or will ship to Canada?
Thanks!

True Leaf Market is another source, and they have this nifty SS sprouting contraption...

(also, their shipping info outlines specific restrictions to Canada, since they're in the US... no soil, for example, and limits on quantity)

You can actually get clear plastic lids for those SS dishes... they are bain-marie dishes. Awesome dishes- I use them for cooking in a fair bit and they clean up so easy no matter what is baked on them. They also make really cool noises when Burt pushes them off the bench

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I will for sure be checking all of them out. I didn't think there would be many options so good to see there are more than I thought!

ahahah that's good to know they are good dishes and what a silly thing! I'm sure it's totally not noisy!

I hope it's okay to send another question through a little later. I just got my mixes today (yippy) and already started soaking one mix. I never even thought about this until now but some of the mixes I got have beans in them. I bought it from a bird site which I buy from regularly and the items had good reviews but I just remembered that I thought I was told that uncooked beans can be unsafe! I just want to double-check to see if anyone knows what the answer is (as when I searched it I keep finding mixed confusing answers) and I will list the ingredients of the two in quesiton!
Thanks!

#1 Adzuki beans, garbanzo beans, green peas, mung beans and lentils
#2 chickpeas, lentils, and peas

Thinking about it, really my main concern is the Adzuki beans, I can't see green peas being a problem, same with mung beans and lentils. I'm also pretty sure I saw chickpeas (garbanzo) were safe when sprouted but I'm a very paranoid person and just want to check all of them!

If you’re sprouting them they should be fine.
Not so sure if you’re just soaking them but @Mizzely will know for sure.

Sorry, missed this tag! The beans you specified are safe to eat sprouted :) others are not, specifically kidney beans. Kidney beans must always be well cooked, even if they've been sprouted :) adzuki are yummy!

I'm super excited then! I think they have about a day or so left before they are ready. I think we will all enjoy them!
