Just a little question. . .

So, Lily is in need of new perches. Her perches now are usuable, they're not splintered or anything, just really worn down. I've been trying to save money and was wondering what types of tree branches I could use for more natural perches with her. The trees that are around my house are Mesquit trees and Chinese Elm. Would these be okay to use as perches for her? Is a "natural" perch even the best way to go?

I just figured that it would be more fun for her and less pricey for me. :)

Any advice and/or comments are welcome and appreciated! ^u^

This website is very helpful on that matter :)

Bird; Birds: Safe, Toxic Trees, Woods. Safe Tree Wood. Parrots. Parrot cages.

From what I read, the Mesquite is fine, but I didn't see anything about Chinese Elms.
that is one of my favorite links for safe woods

there are other links in the sticky section of the Safety Avenue - Avian Avenue Parrot & Other Birds Message Board subforum :)

here is some general info on the uses of Chinese Elm for humans

http://www.pfaf.org/database/plants.php?Ulmus+parvifolia

not sure about the Chinese elm, I think the lists are referring to the common elm

hopefully, someone will be by with a better answer for you
