Thanks for all your sweet replies!! Baby is now one month (almost) old. He is living with the mom and I have put the dad in a separate cage next to them because mom was so territorial and attacked the dad every time he tried to feed the baby. I have soo many questions, so please forgive in advance!
Now that the chick is one month old, should I start hand feeding him to tame him and can I do that and still let the mom feed it too?
Will the mom get to the point where she wants him out of there and be back with her mate?
What is the best way to transition? The mom and the baby almost look like the same size!!

As long as you handle him everyday, he will become tame without hand feeding.

Edit: He will start exploring when he's ready.

Thank you! Your birds are beautiful! Also, should I move the chick to its own cage at some point and put the male and female back together?

Once he is consistently eating on his own it should be fine to put him in his own cage.

Can we see more photos of him? We all love photos here :xflove:
