Can parrots eat them raw or do they have to be cooked?I know one person who feeds them.... but forgot to ask how they prepared them.

I only eat them myself there are three parts the outer leaves that are very tough the choke not eatable and the inner meat (heart) it is great I would boil them and clean out the choke and use as a foraging toy if I gave them to my birds but I never have feed them to my birds to good lol

Artichokes are safe and can be fed raw or cooked. Many people hide treats in their leaves so the birds have to forage for them. The outer leaves can be offered but are more of a toy than a food. They can shred them, but they are too tough to eat.
