I have some of it Miriam. It's not much different than some of the plastic lacing they use on small bird toys, except it's flat. I bought it to try and attach budgie toys to different parts of the cage, but knots do not hold with it. I stopped using it for that reason, but the budgies do love to chew on it. I prefer the plastic lacing that's more noodle shaped because it knots better :)

It is safe...and Andrea is right about the knots being difficult....I would tie a few knots to try to make it more secure...it's definitely not for larger or even medium beaks though...should be fine for Squeeky.

For the knots. Try making two loops and then pushing the end through both loops and pull tight. I hope this makes sense.

They are safe like everyone said. I knot mine like Ann does. It works great that way. A big parrot would rip right threw it. Chiquita does (not that big though, just distructive), he is an IRN but Boomer, my GCC does not and I use them in his cage.

I don't use anything that thin or anything that is stretchy in my birdroom.

Maybe they could get their legs caught around it or ingest it??? Is that why?
