Walking the driveway
its a good idea, but I think that would still freak Jackson out. He's deathly afraid of towels too. I hate taking him to the vet and I no longer get his nails trimmed by the vet. I use one of the perches that files them and also go after them myself with a file. The last time I went the vet suggested this cauterizing thing that melts the nails off and if he hits the quick will cauterize the veins so there's no bleeding. He also assured me it was painless, but after seeing how upset it made Jackson I'll never do it again even though his nails were perfectly smooth.
