Hello, I am planning to adopt an 8 month old black headed caique who needs regimes bc the owner’s job changed and she hasn’t enough time for her. I am experienced with birds but just wanted to see if anyone had any advice for how to make the transition smoother. She is coming from a one bird, 3 dog house to my 3 bird home. My other birds are less physically affectionate and do not spend much time on my body as they prefer to hang out with me a few feet away on their play gyms or cage tops, which I think will eliminate some potential caique-type pitfalls. I just welcome any advice in case someone has wisdom that I haven’t thought of that can help make this a happy and smooth transition for all!

You should always quarantine a new bird before introducing to your flock. What other kind of birds do you have?
