Biking along the boulevard
I didn't see a finch/canary section yet So I'm posting here
I was dropped off a very young baby finch yesterday - it's eyes aren't even open - they estimated it to be born around 10-4/10-5 which would make it around 10 days old but it's eyes are NOT open
My Biggest question is what in the world is the Brooder temp supposed to be?
I know how to feed it - i was actually surprised to wake up and it still be alive, I really didn't think it would make it through the night
I've been using a Tooth pick(the kind i have do not have pointed ends) to feed it with, It's eating some here and there
There is not a lot of info out there on hand feeding Finches - Since you shouldn't really do it to start with
but The parents kept throwing this one out - But not the others
So the people called and asked if i could hand feed it and take care of it
The worst part I found out when they got here I don't know what kind of business it was or if she was talking about at her house But I'm pretty sure she meant at their work - the reason for getting the Finches "were to entertain the cats"
she said she called a vet about the baby and they wanted $55 just to walk in the door then she said "my boss wouldn't justify that as a needed expense So i brought it to you on my own time"
now I don't have finches for a reason - I am personally not fond of them SO I don't know much about them and I can't find any where that tells me what temp. the brooder is supposed to be for a very tiny finch
I think its a zebra finch, its skin is black its tongue is white with black lines and it looks like the roof of its mouth is the same as its tongue White with black stripes
