Not RBF by any chance? If so, it would be Rock Bottom Farm

Or maybe Brenda Farms?

5RF 180
5 or S? Found a band with info that says SRF GA? Can't seem to find anything either way.

CSG NYS 96 215
CSG by itself says import. The rest of the information indicates the bird should have been bred in captivity, in New York State. More info might help? i.e. species?

Found this as a possible match

DLT FL 362
This one has been difficult for many people to figure out. Breeder might be located in Miami, Florida. Unfortunately, we don't know if DLT stands for the aviary name or the initials of the breeder, so it makes it even more difficult to track down. Best way might be to contact the leg band manufacturers and if they have the information, see if they'll give it to you. Otherwise, you can try contacting pet stores that sell parrots and see if any of them are willing to give you that information. There's a good chance they wont...

Found this, but I don't even know if it's correct....

Assuming California... but lost after that..... more info might help?

You may need to try contacting the leg band companies or try going through the leg band group? (I haven't seen anything on there myself, so you would need to ask)

CSG NYS 96 215 CAG
Still thinking this breeder.... although you may not be able to get any more information. If you can't find a way to get a hold of him (possibly retired or passed on?), your next bet is to contact the leg band companies to find out when the band was made. (if they'll give you that information) Regardless, considering the information, I would put this CAG at 20-21 years old.

TTA?? Here are a few:
TTA Red Treetop Aviaries Sherri Griffin Ada OK (580)332-7622

TTA Red Treetop Aviaries Sherri Griffin Seguin TX (580)332-7622

TTA Silver IPS Tiny Treasures Aviary Shelia Lee Denton TX 940-206-7652

TTA various Treetops Aviary Linda Seger Littleton NC (was SC)

BUT I think VA might mean Virginia.

Since this is an AFA band you could contact the AFA and see if the bird is registered in their database.

As @iamwhoiam said, the American Federation of Aviculture maintains a database of all of the breeders that use their bands.

Hi all... does anyone know how to trace bands? This is from one I'm considering getting but it doesn't have a year on it so I want to make sure the age of him.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

The sideways letters AFA indicate that the band was issued through the American Federation of Aviculture. The PAPL is the code used to identify the breeder. Because the breeder was at one time registered with the AFA you might be able to locate them. The AFA will only contact the breeder if the breeder is willing to be contacted. Many breeders do not take contacts from bird owners because of problems they have had in the past.

Is this the bird that is supposedly 40ish? The AFA was founded in 1974 so I suppose it is possible to have a AFA band that old. I did notice that there is no year or state/province code on the legband. Most newer bands on cockatoos usually have one or both. So it could indeed be one of the earlier closed bands.

Hi there... no this bird is completely different. The woman ended up selling those birds before I had a chance to get them.

My black headed caique has a band of either QCP BRC7 96 2 or QCP BHC7 96 2

I'm assuming this means he hatched in 1996, but that is all I can gather from it. It is a silver band and none of the numbers are sideways.

You're best bet is to start from the store, as they may have the records.

This one might be difficult to find, although I'd guess it should be easy. Can't look into it right now, but is there any way you can get a picture of the band and information on it?

Thank you!!! My husband did get in contact with the breeder!! YAY...Success!!
Which breeder was it? Was it Parrots Aplenty? If you have verified information we would like to add it to the main list.

Did you get a hatch date? Even if under 40, I would like to confirm or deny my hunch on a now-so new band.

Edit: grammer/ fixed bad cut&past

I can definitely try. I had taken a picture at one point, but it was too fuzzy to see anything. I'll see if my husband can take a picture this evening while I am holding the bird. I rescued him from a bird fair. The people I got him from knew nothing of his history, other than "he is a mature bird." He truly is just the sweetest thing. He's been with me about six weeks.

@jujube1209, Are some of the numbers/letters printed sideways? Does the band have a gap in it, or is it a solid band like the one in this picture?

No, none are sideways - they all go the same direction. It is a solid silver band. I'll try to get a picture of it this evening.
