    Flight training

Hello all, I’m looking for some advice on flight training my parrot. After doing a lot of research on behavior and wing clipping I’ve decided to let my bird’s flight feathers grow in. I had a sun conure that was flighted and she got out of an open soo and flew into a tree. Luckily we got her...

Strategies on Allowing Flight Feathers to Grow In Safely

I'm preparing to adopt a 22YO CAG who has been clipped for at least 10 years. His current owner says he still shows some motivation to fly, and that he'll need another wing clip in about a month. When will flight feathers grow in?

When I bought my green cheek conure from the breeder, he was clipped. He started his molt about 3-5 months ago (he’s 10 months old) and has shedded three or four tail feathers and head, chest and backside of the wing feathers as well. When do you think he will molt out his clipped wings?

Help - It this normal? (Loss of Appetite from Wing-Trim)

Loss of Appetite from Wing-Trim ??!!?! After a long time of debating pros & cons of flighted feathers vs. trimmed wings, I trimmed my Senegal parrot’s wings. She was used to being able to fly anywhere she wanted. I made this choice because I moved to a new studio apartment that is very small &...

    Pictures Possible Genetic Mutation?

Hi all, I have a mates pair of budgies who have hatched and raised two clutches of chicks. The oldest clutch are 1 year old, and the youngest are 6 months old. Recently I have noticed a trend of sorts in the plumage of a couple of the babies. There are a total of 5 birds from the same parents...
