Necropsy results showed her lungs were full of blood and there were a couple blood clots. It was a stroke like event most likely brought on by her over active reproductive system.
No fungal or bacterial disease found.
A couple of years ago she suffered egg yolk stroke and we almost lost her. She lost use of her left side. She recovered fully after weeks of meds and diet adjustment and TLC. She's been particularly hormonal in the last several years, very nesty. It's been tricky keeping her balanced.
The vet and I agreed there probably wasn't much else we could have done for her. Otherwise she was in good conditions other than her liver and arteries which were stressed due to her over active ovaries. There were several follicles being developed apparently. Her system just couldn't take it.
Poor girl. We are pretty sure she died instantly and did not suffer.
I am at peace with it. Still sad and a little stunned, but it's good to have answers.
