Tonight Joey shook her head a couple times, and a yellowish fluid came out. It didn't have an oder, was only a few drops. She seemed a little off for a few minutes. Then resumed normal activity, eating, flying and such. So far no more yellow fluid. Any ideas?

I checked inside her beak. I didn't see any wetness or signs of fluid after the few drops came out. I know it wasn't vomit, she didn't make any vomiting motions and she had been eating, so I would think she'd have seed in it. This makes me think it might have been respiratory.

Any wheezing or sounds? Tail bobbing?

Is she being normal now? Eating pooping, flying?

She could have possibly eaten something yellow. One of the foods I give her has yellow pellets, but she typically ignores them. She did eat some broccoli earlier. I smelled her, no abnormal odor. I smelled the fuid, no smell. I also smelled her poo. No odor, good poo/urate balance.

I would just watch her for the evening. She may have had something stuck in her throat that caused a bit of vomit.

Watch her poops, make sure she is drinking and eating. Keep an eye on any throw ups. Regurgitation is an up and down motion where the food lands in front of them. Vomiting is a fast side to side motion where the food typically lands on walls ceilings and their face.

One more thing, right before the yellow stuff came out, she had eaten a couple Safflower seeds. No seeds came out. The fluid was like water, not like mucus. She did a quick side to side motion and that's when it came out.

Now she's up way past her bed time, flying around the house like a maniac.

Sounds like vomit. Keep a close eye on her and if you still feel worried in the morning call the vet.

I definitely will. I am hoping she just had a weird reaction to something getting caught. She's acting just fine, now she's eating her bedtime avi cake like a champion.

Whenever I've had birds vomit, they have no interest in eating. This is just strange.

She's been in bed for a little while now. I put paper towels on the cage grating so I can see if there is any fluid on them. So far nothing. Some normal poop and food scraps. I took her out for about ten minutes, no fluid a little bit ago. She took a nice poop, ate a few seeds, flew around and flirted with me. I'm going to go to bed, but I set my alarm for a few hours from now so I can check on her again.

A few hours ago I checked on, she was totally normal. Same just a few minutes ago. No fluid. I just wish I knew what that was. I will call the vet to try and figure out what that could have been.

Better safe than sorry - I've been considered a nervous Nelly but I'd rather be a nervous Nelly than a grieving parront.
