WTH is this

I've seen her a handful of times do this & finally caught it on video.
Nothing comes up/out (regurgitating). Basically only when scratching her ear she does the wide open beak thing.

My gcc does this a lot when she's scratching her head. I thought maybe her ears itched but I've seen other people on here say that yawning is them adjusting their crops

That's called scratchin' an itch!! It just feels good. :D

Scratch her behind the ear and she'll do it everytime. Most birds do it.

My vet says it compensates for the change in pressure inside the ear canal when it is disturbed. I panicked when I first saw it many moons ago.....

She does the mouthing though even with NO scratching. I know it isn't yawning either, she opens & shuts repetitively.

Well, she may be just adjusting the pressure in her ears, sort of how humans do..I think. I guess if it's constant or she looks like she's having trouble, you might question it, but otherwise, in my limited experience with one parrot, it seems normal.
