Tiny flying bugs that grow in fungus. I read a vey scary article about the dangers of composting right now. Calmed down again lol. As long as it’s not a danger to the birds I think i will only feed coffee grounds so no fungus. Chickie is sneezing after I got close to her. There’s no smell but my face burns since this morning. Jack was up close and personal with the bin yesterday installing the vents so carefully and he had nothing to say. Yesterday my face didn’t burn. Today it does.Fungus gnats?? What are these things?
I have lots of cardboard and it shreds beautifully. face and nose reacting like I rubbed chilies. No chilies today. We stopped using sugar cane mulch and coir in our bins, the only time we ever had stinky worm farms and saw fungus was when we used those as bedding so we just use paper waste instead now. I wonder if you’d have less issue if you held back on the coir.
Never seen that. But we haven’t had mozzies interested in our worms.
