Hi all, I had a pair of young female bourkes ,one died by accidentand I am wondering if the one left will be lonely and need a friend. She is eating and chirping, but I don't want her to be unhappy. I have other birds but none that I could put in with her. Any advice would be appreciated Thanks,Barb:confused:

She'd probably enjoy a friend!

I only have one bourke parakeet as well, as her family has died and she's the only remaining one. She's also *very* old! (well, she's supposed to be 15-17 years old this year). If I were to get more bourkes, I'd want an aviary of them! I find them so amazing!

I'm currently housing her in with my 5 cockatiels, and she puts up with them just fine! Heck, she even bullies them away from the food dishes!

If she is not hand tame then I think you should get her a buddy. :)
