This little one looks like he is full of spunk! He obviously is an over preener/plucker but that can probably be corrected.If anyone is interested out of state let me know and I can pick up for you and ship.

Well, I spent several text messages with the current owner. I'm not able to see the bird until November 15th and he is willing to keep the bird for me until then. I'm scared that there may be something more than plucking with this bird that could harm the blue front that I currently have. He has only had the bird 3 months and has to decrease the number of flock members he has. He does not come with a cage although the current owner is willing to set up a cage for me for $50 (includes toys and perches). I guess I'm just afraid to take the plunge or getting another bird and not having it work out...which I know could happen. For the record...I noticed this guy over a week ago on Craigslist...then he disappeared and I spent two days going through the Craigslist looking for him. Now that I've found him again...I still scared to get him.

ANY bird you bring into your home should be handled in the same way to ensure the safety of your existing birds. A vet check and quarantine. If he's been on your mind this long, I'd at least go check him out!

Yep - I'm gonna go see him next week. I've got a call into my AV as to how we will handle this.
The owner says that he doesn't pluck.

Then again, I'm a sucker for amazons, but definitely do not need another parrot.

So, yeah I want the guy (repeat). My vet discussed with me what the game plan is. Your normal stuff...exam, blood tests, (nail clipping and wing clipping if necessary).
I'm going to go and get him next weekend...hopefully next Saturday.
Once I figured out the spacing for the new cage and talked with my vet I quit stressing.
I'm changing his name...It's Speckles and I just don't care for it.
Of course just by looking at his picture I'd call him Fuzzy but hopefully that will go away.

Hopefully once I meet the zon I will get a better feel for a name. If he answers to Speckled I may just have to go with it. Maybe just Specs will work.

I got him. Still not sleeping great but now it's not the bird keeping me awake.
The bird is so sweet. He stepped up on my finger today. He is really small.
I'm taking him to the vet this afternoon.
