When did you get your ramphastid??

I was in the pet store and inquired on their opinion of ramphastids, they said they were aggressive and mean. In all my research I have never heard such a thing! They said that perhaps the toucan they had was mean and was a mature toucan. I was wondering when everyone who has ramphastids got theirs, especially anyone who has a larger toucan breed?
