Hi, everybody
I'm a super rookie mom about the parrot.
My parrot will arrive at my home next week.
I have prepared the perch, cage, chewing toy and food for it.

It's my first time to get along with the parrot, so I have several questions:
1.when the parrot keeps moving up and down, what's the best way to let it calm down?
2.Could you give me the reference that where I can buy the parrots' favorite devices, for example, toy, perch, cage. I mean what material of parrots' favorite devices parrots would like.
3.Anything I have to add to?

Any reply would be appreciated.
Please help me~

Congrats on your new addition!

Do you know what type of parrot he or she is?

For the first few days, I would let the bird settle in their new home. Let them have their space to not stress them.
It's going to take time to form a relationship with any bird, so be prepared to have lots of patience.

We have many great vendors here on the forum, who I couldn't recommend more. :)

Welcome.
What kind of parrot? I have Macaws and an Eclectus.
How old is the parrot? Mine range from 5 years old to 20+.
How many perches? I have a minimum of four but usually six.
What kind of perches? They vary. I even have a dowel rod in the cage. :wideyed: Wood, sand, etc.
How many toys? Should eventually have five to ten. Depends on the bird/s.
What kinds of toys? I have wood, bells, java balls, for my macaws. Things they can pluck because two of the four of mine were pluckers when I got them.
For my Eclectus I have thin wood toys. She likes to shred.
