Caitlin, many of us have seen them all, or most of them! If not in person, then at least online. Way to many to list. :) You've seen a fair share yourself.

Well, Caitlin is posting this question in Bird Watchers Road, so the assumption is she means seeing them in person, and most of the ones she listed were in the wild. If I answer about the ones I've seen in the wild, the answer would be zero. I've seen quite a few in zoos and pet stores. But, I'd love to go down to Bolivia and see the last of the RFMs in the wild. :)

In the wild would be 0 for me too. :(

I'm guessing an escaped budgie doesn't count?

It would be fun to see a lot of parrots, but I do have a specific interest in seeing the RFMs before there are none left in the wild. Not like it will really happen, though. I have to be here to watch the ones in my bird room :D

I have seen a lilac crowned amazon, red lored amazon, I can't remember what type of conures they were I think they were dusky conures, and quite a few different toucans. These were all in Panama and Costa Rica. In Dominica we saw the Jaco and the Sisserou Parrots they are both Amazons and are endangered. We also saw several yellow billed parrots in Jamaica, I thought they looked very similar to a blue crowned conure. There were also all sorts of little guys there but we were not close enough to see what they actually were. They looked like parrotlets but not sure and all the guide could tell me was they were a "parakeet" ;) In St Thomas we have seen numerous Brown Throated Conures Or St Thomas Conures and I hope to see them again in January.

I just remembered, when we were in ecuador we saw the caiques in the jungle but then on the OTHER SIDE of the Andes we saw a pair of blue and white parrots, at first i thought they might be escaped Masked Lovebirds but they were acting like wild birds not pets and were caique size could they have been the blue mutation caique in the wild?

I think thsi image is from somewhere else on AA so sorry to whoevers image it is :)

I've seen too many to name, it would be much easier to name the ones I haven't seen before. (If you're talking parrots including domesticated ones)

In their post tho they talk about breeders they've seen and zoos as well which is why I thought domesticated as well.

We and 60 other birders from either the Audubon or The Bird Lovers Club saw 36 varieties of wild free flying parrots during our ANNUAL Parrot Field trip last December-( always held the first Saturday of the month). It's always led by our local ( and world) parrot expert Paul Bithorn. Highlights were the blue and yellow macaws, a flock of +50 severe macaws, orange winged amazons, white eyed parakeets, cherry headed conures, also some exotics red whiskered bulboa (sp?), rock pigeons, Egyptian geese etc. Here is a picture of one of the wild macaws in my backyard . They are still coming every day- notice the walnut the macaw is eating.

This is super interesting to me, Tom. I've never seen a caique in person and had no idea they are small enough to be mistaken for a lovebird (size-wise).

There not really, but at the time i didnt know that they had that mutation and the fact that they were so far away from the jungle was really weird :)
We also saw them when we were in teh jungle and theyre really playful when we were watching them two started hanging by a branch play-fighting with another one standing on the branch bending over watching them :)
