What are they?

My sister sent me this photo & asked what are the birds sitting on the fence. Don't know where the picture was taken. From the trees I know it wasn't near her home. She recently returned from a trip to Europe so it could be from a lot of place. I'm sure some one here will know. Thanks.

Looks like something from the kookaburra or wader family but I really don't know.

That's what I thought at first but when I looked kookaburra up, nothing matched. I'll try wader birds as a clue in my search. Thanks/

A heron...of course! I kind of recognized the shape but couldn't place it. Thanks, ladies. I let my sister continue to think I know EVERY bird there is.
