I'm going to have to agree, if you don't know what it is the answer is best as a "no". Do you know if the area if was found has been sprayed at all with pesticides or chemicals of any sort? What about areas nearby?

It was in my garden. My mum put it in the cage. Cause my budgies use to eat it

I don't know what it is, we don't have those types of weeds here. Maybe someone will come along who knows, but best to take it out until you're sure.

stop feeding that weed immediately!!! Go to the store and buy a variety of organic greens and see what your bird likes. Spinach very sparingly. kale romaine, broccoli ....try those. if you buy a tub of organic spring mix it has a variety of greens in it.

I'm sorry for your loss :(. Do remember if you have any other birds that they're very sensitive to chemicals so if you spray your garden with pesticides it could make them sick.

The leaves of the weed could be poisoning her bird!

We never use chemicals in our garden.

It's not just pesticides, though. Many plants contain toxic compounds that can be harmful. If you don't know what the weed is, don't use it!

Without knowing what it is I would remove it immediately. My budgies have always gone nuts for kale, watercress, spinach and other safe leafy greens placed on a small plate with water sprinkled over it. They bathe in it and eat it. Tons of fun!

STOP WORRYING EVERYONE!

Is this weed okay for them to eat?
Yes it's safe. It is chickweed. It is one of the best "outside" sources to calcium. I eat them to almost everyday. They taste good.
Birds love the chickweed seeds.
If you can find ground elder they would love that too. (also common weed) And that you also can eat for yourself.
