Don't know if this was ever posted, didn't bother to search around. But check this out. A family in Tokyo lost their grey and they had taught it to recite it's address. They were reunited.

I guess a good tip would be if you have a parrot inclined to talking, teach it your address or phone number in the event that it ever escapes and is caught by animal control.

Yeah, unfortunately that does include only people who never move. But, as I mentioned, memorizing a cell phone number (so long as you don't switch carriers... but even if you do, some new carriers let you keep your old number) maybe you could teach the bird an email address, or at least a first and last name. Or maybe a website address or personal blog or facebook account. The possibilities for teaching your bird to leave a trail of bread crumbs are endless.
