This has been the worst weekend of my life! Friday evening, when we had just got to our campsite (hubby was already there to set up, I followed in a different vehicle with kids and pets), we unloaded the kids, pets, and what luggage we had, then my husband decided to let birds out of their carriers, proceeded to open the bedroom door, then my daughter asks if we have a can opener. We forgot to bring one, so without thinking my husband opens the camper door to ask a neighbor if they had one. That is when Joey flew out.
We searched and searched. Called and called. Had all the campers on the lookout and we posted fliers everywhere. We stayed an extra day so we could look.
I feel hopeless and helpless. It is so hot and they're calling for thunder showers. Only good thing I can think of is that all the permanent campers have bird feeders and bird baths out. And there are so many finches, robins, and sparrows.
I don't want to go on.
