Hi - best to not post the band number since you would want the person to be able to provide the band number or a description of the bird. Otherwise, someone looking for a free bird could easily claim it as theirs. Sadly, there are people out there like that.

Also maybe you could post on Craigslist as well? Might be a good idea to let nearby pet stores/vets know you found a bird in case someone comes in asking about it.

I've been in contact with a gal in Brooklyn who lost her cockatiel... Does this tiel have orange checks? If it does she told me to give this person her phone number as this could be her missing tiel!!!!!! I will PM you as well to make sure you see this...

We lost our cockatiel in Brooklyn on July 8th, his name is "Buster", very sweet, friendly cockatiel. He is grey with some white on his wings, yellow head with orange cheeks. He has a band on his leg. He has a special song that he sings. We are terribly heartbroken. He has been a part of our family for over 12 years. Did you find him?

Unfortunately I haven't heard back from the gal who found the bird yet. I really hope she gets back to me soon. I have no idea why it's taking so long.

It wasn't a match. I'm waiting for a photo of the found bird, and have just learned that the lady who found him/her will not be able to keep the bird. I'm not sure how much time she's giving it at this point, but if the owner isn't found she plans to put the bird up for adoption.
