Sprinting down the street
(Bambi reference to politely describe animals in spring time with a need to breed)
Our gcc is constantly attempting to mate with my husband's hand or neck/collar bone. It was funny at first. But i am getting concerned because it is non-stop. Never with me. I don't let that kind of behaviour slide. But I am worried Bird might be over sexed and that could be unhealthy.
I know dogs, left intacted, male or female become distressed over their lack of successful mating. Is it the same with birds? Do they get distressed or depressed when their desire to mate in not fulfilled? If so, is it physical, mental or both?
