Its an Australian brand 'passwel'. They had others but full of colour so I said no way. My kids wouldn't get that neither is my bird.Is it Zupreem pellets? If so, might be a good idea to at least withhold the pellets. Maybe see if you can return them?
I've heard Harrison's, Roudybush, TOP's or *maybe* Pretty Bird are better to give to Ekkies if you are going to feed them pellets. I don't know about Vetafarm... but I wouldn't feed an Ekkie Zupreem.
What about feeding sprouted seeds, grains and legumes as a "base" with plenty of fresh foods?
7Might try Vetafarm over Passwell then? Passwell has "meat meal" in it... which makes me skeptical of feeding it.... although, for an eclectus, I'd keep pellets at 25% or less of the diet.
If you sprout the sunflower seeds, I'd say they are okay. You wouldn't want a ton, but mixed in the sprout, they should be fine.
I'd imagine the other things are okay, too, unless your ekkie has a problem with one in particular. Granted, I don't feed pasta to my birds, but I do know many that do. As for the linseed, I think this is best fed ground up. That is, get seeds, put into a coffee grinder (or other type of grinder), and grind into a powder and add to their fresh foods. It's easier to digest ground up than fed whole.
I decided no more pellets and chilli once a week at most. Sunflower occasionally as a treat. He now has chop mix twice daily that is supplemented with fresh fruit/veg. He will help himself to a little canary mix which is always available in his cage. However, doesnt eat much of it though. AV said it is a much better alternative.Do you keep a food diary? this could help identified what foods are causing the TT & WF.
Thank you! I'm so in love with him.Beautiful little guy
