Rescued/ confiscated a Sulcata tortoise..been trying to get this baby for a year...the lady is 75years old. She thought she was doing good, she was and wasnt..
..the tortoise lived in a big bread box, and was taken out to be fed and a few minutes outside maybe twice a week..the diet was ok, but not optimal..I was to pick tortoise up last Sunday, and the lady cried and wanted to keep another week..I told the lady I'll be there the next Sunday..so, I fianally got the tortoise yesterday ..the lady agreed to let her go and I explained to her that it's not fair for the tortoise to live in a bread box anymore..This poor thing has a shell deformity and pyramiding,,..first thing I did was take her outside and let her roam my yard,,she loved it! Basked in the sun, ate globe mallow and little yellow flowers.. she spent the night, and my freind Dr.Funk suggested where to take her, I dropped her off ..was kinda sad to see her go, but now shes taking the next journey in her life..the lady at the place, told me the owner, who is a friend of Dr. Funks will most likely adopt her. Here she is..
You can see the deformation and pyramiding..people just dont understand how special these creatures are and they're need for specific diets and most importantly, the sun..
