Well Danita had a HUGE surprise for all of us! She sent a couple oversized boxes full of bird toys to AHW for our Secret Santa drive!! Thank you so much for the surprise, it was truly awesome!!

I had not asked to post about Secret Santa this year for the shelter with all the fundraising and such for the WPR birds, that was much more important and urgent then our toy drive. But we want to send huge hugs to everyone who supported Danita and in turn helped her help not only WPR but a mountain of toys for the AHW birds too.

Thank you to everyone While I joke I'm the Grinch this Christmas, I do hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season.

We were thrilled! Danita messaged me about if we got boxes and not expecting anything from her or AA, all the boxes have just been piled up to go thru and post thank you's. Needless to say when Jeanne saw the size of these two boxes, it was a wonderful awesome surprise!!

And yes, it was so incredibly sweet and generous, both AA support for the call for help with Danita's fundraising and her in turn sharing those efforts with AHW. So its a huge thank you hug not to just Danita but to everyone who made Danita's efforts such an amazing success and allowed her to share the holiday goodies!!

Was really a wonderful surprise, its been a tough year at AHW, we've had so much happening and going on! We had multiple turnovers from the NJSPCA including a 'small' hoarding / breeding situation (I say small, it was only about 30 birds but many were quite a few were tiels and budgies), another rescue operation in another state was in need of help and we took not sure how many birds total, but the last transfer was almost 10 or 15 larger birds (senegals to macaws), and several surrenders from tragic situations including a local tragedy of a murder / suicide situation that were actually friends of the shelter.... With the shelter overflowing with birds, Jeanne also had foot surgery which she still is having issues from and construction projects both for personal on the house plus adding another room onto the rescue building, its been a heck of a year!!! So, it was such a wonderful surprise to have a large delivery of toys for Secret Santa, so many birds will enjoy them!!

Sorry, babbling as usual But again, thank you so much to everyone!!

I've had a few questions about the next auction fundraiser which was supposed to happen in the fall, but with Jeanne's surgery, it was delayed, but we will be launching that probably about same time as last year, by February.... I know we have one wonderful AHW friend here who has an item waiting patiently for our fundraiser, you are not forgotten But I'll share more on that after the New Year. For now, the happy news is the wonderful delivery of toys for the shelter babies.

Hugs again to everyone at AA that helped Danita who in turn shared that help and support with AHW Really means so much to have the ongoing support and love from everyone at AA!!
