we have a 3 year old maxi pi, scooby. When we walk out of the room to do something, like make a cup of tea, she starts squawking. It has got that bad that I used to come home for my lunch but whilst I am making my lunch she squawks. We have a perch in the kitchen but when she starts she won’t let me pick her up from her cage, so I have to suffer. As soon as I sit down to eat, she is quiet. The other times that she is like this is when I am cleaning my rats out, so again, not sitting down.
Can anybody suggest anyway of stopping this behaviour? We have tried telling her that we will be right back, try to take her with us.
We picked a pionus because they are supposed to be chilled and quiet!
