Taking Bird Outside in Travel Cage?

I bought a travel cage a while ago to use in case I ever had to take Flip to the vet - it's a bit easier than carrying around his big cage and putting it in the car. I've not had to take him to the vet since, fortunately, but I was thinking of using the travel cage to take him for a walk to the park nearby so he could get some sun and see a bit of the world.

Has anyone done this? Do your lovebirds enjoy it? Is there anything I should be especially wary of?

Lots of people do it!! Its great for them to get outside and get natural sunlight. If they won't take to a harness (mine wont!) A travel cage is great. :)

It hasn't been warm enough since I got my cage to go out so I'm not sure what to be wary of. But I know it's great for them!

I take mine out in their travelers. And I have a stroller that will fit both travelers if I want to take them for a walk. :cool:

Well I took him out in the park! He loved it. He made some new noises I hadn't heard him make before - probably because he heard some different birds. He was very curious, and seemed to enjoy it. I only took him out for about 10 minutes but he I think he liked it. Anyway - was a good way to enjoy a nice winter's day. :)

Oh that's incredibly sweet! Does she make lots of noise? I find that Flip is either very quiet or making new noises when he's out and about.
