Omega is a girl.

My wife has been seriously outnumbered by males of all species here for quite some time. Even when Goalie was with us it was: two human males here, 6 boy birds and two boar guinea pigs against one human and one birdie girl.

Now, with our new girl coming Tuesday, it'll be 3 girls vs. 7 boys...

This will be our first yellow budgie! This little one has no name......but I have a plan for solving that. I'm going to ask all of you to suggest names for her. After she gets home and I can post some pics you guys can start suggesting names. Until that happens, I'll be using "Little One", which will be shortened to "Lo" when I refer to her...

I had a difficult time getting to sleep last night so I was thinking of names for your beautiful yellow girl. I remember some of them so if you don't mind if I submit them to you and family:

Too bad Sunshine is already taken, it would fit right in with your sky theme for your budgies. By the way Bob, "omega" is technically a weather term: Glossary - NOAA's National Weather Service so Omega does still fit your theme. (I had to look that up.)

How about a Greek name who pertains to the sky? That would tie in the Grecian and sky themes.

• Theia - titan goddess of sight and the shining light of the clear blue sky.
• Iris - goddess of the rainbow and divine messenger
• Andromeda - wife of Perseus, who was placed among the constellations after her death
• Selene - goddess of the moon
