The koi emerged from their winter slumber today. We are currently filling our koi hotel so we can start moving them over while we empty the pond and get some work done on it.

In this case, they vanished beneath the floating bed of water Irises for the winter. The water is still pretty cold, so we'll keep track of it and slowly wean them back onto food as the water warms up.
