Sparse feathers by ear canal?

Is it normal that I can see Blu's ear canal when he's not wet?




We have a vet appointment on 10/14 for his annual, and I was going to ask the vet then, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here in the mean time.

Well, feathers don't grow in the ear canal. So it would make sense that it would look a little more sparse

I was a little concerned because I don't think his other ear looks like that but I can't double check right now because he's asleep. I'm sure you're probably right. Thank you!
