We have light snow up here in Payson. Supposed to snow until tomorrow at 5pm with an accumulation of 3-5 inches. Three inches I'll be ok, but 5 inches and I'm snowed in - my car works better as a sled than it does as a car in the snow. Big powerful engine and no weight in back. Oh well.

Are you looking North in that picture?

When I lived back east, we had to put bricks in the trunk to weigh the car down..
Cat litter in the trunk of a VW beetle or in the trunk of the Toyota. Sitting on the hood of a Ford Belina while trying to go uphill in muddy rain soaked roads between Sao Paulo and Rio. Good way to overheat one's tush.

When I was a youngster and lived in Nevada where we had about 15 feet of snow every year (I had a Charger with a 440cc motor) and we went to an old gold mill and put a couple of mill stones in the trunk. Still had to be very light on the accelerator.

In my Dart it had a big trunk so I just shoved the tires I pulled off inside as many as would fit. I also added a SureGrip(positraction) center differential later seeing how I put in a 8 3/4 rear that is REALLY easy to swap gears in. I also used 4 wheel studs as you can steer as well as go which is important. I haven't had to use the snow tires that came with my Neon yet.

@Birdbabe It's dark now. I'll take a picture in the morning. No teasing - I hate it.

@Birdbabe OK here you go and I am officially snowed in. It's 10:30 here and the Temperature is only 27f and it got down to 13f this morning. The drive from here in Star Valley to the Shea Blvd. turnoff is 1 hour 15 minutes, so it's a huge change from here to Phoenix. Basically from low Alpine to Sonoran desert.

Across the street - the snow depth shows on the rail fence. About 5" ???

@Hankmacaw i spent many summers during my youth with my grandpa up in the White Mountian Apache Reservation. Arizona reminds of Afghanistan when it comes to terrain and weather, sometimes the people too lol.

Yes, the Apaches were tough, but as it turned out my ancestors were tougher.
