I'm so sorry for your loss, Simba looks like a very beautiful (and mischievous) little Sunny.
Not meaning to upset you but would you care to tell us about Simba and your life with him/her?

Rejoyce in the life you had with Simba, and your precious memories of the way he touched your life. Every living thing is a one of a kind personality never to be again once they cross the Bridge. Cherish your memories and celebrate you life with Simba.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Thank you for all your thoughts. I'm new to this forum but I can already see the quality of people here.

I never thought 10 years would be it and 3 months later it doesn't get easier. My wife and I can't have children so we used to refer to Simba as our Daughter. Simba suffered from a slow crop (you can tell how her crop would grow in this picture) she would get infections often and the 2 Avian vets who saw her throughout her life both thought it might be PDD. finally her last bout with an infection got her. The necropsy revieled no PDD, just the infection.

Welcome to you and your wife, I wish it could be under happier circumstances but I think you'll find that there's enveloping compassion and sympathy, not to mention understanding here.:hug8:

Thank you for sharing a little bit about your life with Simba. I believe several of us who have lost our loved ones (I mean birds specifically) can relate and sympathize with you. Some of our losses were sudden and unexpected and others were ongoing battles which seemed to be winning but ultimately were lost. I am one of the "sudden" and to this day, still mourn my loss.

But I also remember the quirks, enjoyment, funny times and goofy things (like Kiwi, the Quaker, bathing in our geriatric cat's running water bowl). Please, please share those times with us too. While we mourn our losses, we can still as a group chuckle and laugh about the silly and funny things our fids did/we did/people suggested/thought and some of the end results. Sometimes a "celebration of life" is what we need as the emotional parronts that we are.
