Should I separate the male Canary?

I know this isn't a Parrot question, but I was hoping to find some answers. My female has been sitting on her eggs for about 10 days now. My male is feeding her, but now he has dismantled her nest. He was picking at her tail feathers, while she was on the nest as well. She is still sitting on her eggs and they are intact. Is this normal behavior or should I separate them? Thank you
