5am.... Best time of the day as no one needs anything and I can drink my coffee in complete silence getting computer work done.

6am.... Completely calm and quiet, birds are sleeping, family is sleeping time for a coffee refill.

6:22 am Motion Detection Alert on my phone from the upstairs birdroom but all is still a perfectly quiet Monday morning.

6:23 am Shots Fired! Shots Fired!
It rings out through the house breaking all the silence. Ringing against huge empty wall space and shattering into every room.

6:23 and 15 secs later I'm on the floor spitting coffee and laughing so hard I can't breath....

Kailua is home on vacation. Good morning Nutz Residence, everyone is awake now.

I swear, it doesn't bother me at all! I would take that quick high pitched whistle over distraught macaw yelling anyday. It's fast and over with, usually just one time.

I compare it to telling someone to F off. It's always the last word and nothing else is said. Lol

Bowser makes that exact high pitched sound every once in a while too. It’s almost always in the morning and he always follows it up with “good morning handsome.” Lol like he’s angry I haven’t said it yet and also proud that he made eardrums bleed down the block.

Really? I've never heard it from another bird... especially a macaw. It really rings out much more than the video allows. She has taught it to Maui but it comes through more as a word or sound rather than the way she does it. She must open all her airways and just let it rip through her body. Lol!

It's definitely the reason she was rehomed. Extreme jealously and a voice to not ignore. When visiting the women had three birds and only Kailua was out. She was shy but quite the doll. When we went to pick her up it was nail day so the other macaw was out. When I turned my attention to the other she let out that sound. Both Joe and I jumped and "WTH was that" came out of my mouth. The lady looked at my friend, who was also her friend... and said "I've never heard it before!" Yah.... uh huh. It was about 25 times a day when we first got her. We are down to about 2 a day now. Lol

I don't care... I love her and it is not the most annoying sound in my house! By far...

I was thinking to myself - how is it possible that Sarah doesn't laugh at all?....and then around the 5 minute mark I heard you.

Yes, I’ll try to get a video of him doing it. He hangs from the top right of the aviary, flutters his wings and lets the screech out lol. He has never done it anywhere else or in any other position lol. I thought he was just being a weirdo. My husband goes almost deaf from it because it’s so direct and travels so far . I’m harder to annoy apparently lol.

Oh I was laughing the entire time! Korbel was on my shoulder trying to figure out if showering with her would be wise. LOL

I told Joe I was bringing Kailua home and he told me clearly... no gym whistles! At 6:23am this morning... one room from him sleeping... OOPS! I'm sure he could hear me laughing from downstairs!

When I get a chance I'll upload the videos of Sam and Maui learning Kailua's props to cover her. I told them both they had 10 minutes to learn them before the show... they did.

Kailua's head shake and gibberish cracks me up so bad. Then her performing routine foot checks.
