I'm so so sorry that you have to go thru this life or death situation. It's one of the worst things to deal with.

Follow your heart. Follow the love and the bond that you've had for so long. The suffering is hurting you both. He's seeing you suffer and feels your pain as well as his own. You need to make peace with a decision that is ultimately yours. Let him know that it's ok, whatever your decision may be, and let him feel your peace. He needs that. Know that we are here for you, and will support you in any decision you make. God Bless. :sad6:

I am so very sorry you are going through this now. I just did it a couple of weeks ago. They are so incredibly fragile, and it is beyond explaining what is like to love them and be loved by them. You are doing right by your boy and taking his pain away and making it yours. This decision is the hardest one and you need to make it for him with his best interest at heart. We are all there with you and we will always remember your sweet boy. Be strong - you loved him well. Fly high and free beautiful Gimli. If you need to talk, we are all here for you.

Good bye Gimli.

I was so lucky to meet, and then share a year and a half with such a sweet, gentle soul. My little old Green Cheeked Amazon is now free.

Gary called (Thank you Gary, that meant so much to me), just to offer comfort, and 20 minutes after we hung up Gimli closed his eyes for the last time, and took his last breath.

He was in my arms for which I am grateful, I am so glad he didn't pass in his crate while on the way to the vet.

Becky (Merlinsmom) also called right after, and her words and care were a great comfort.

I'll miss you so very much my little Gimli.

It's always so hard to lose them. I had to go through this twice this fall and it was probably the worst few weeks of my life. Give your other birds some cuddles tonight. So sorry for your loss.
