I hate seizures. They are so helpless and confused when they have one. Hopefully they can find a medication to control those seizures - then find the cause and correct it.

Keep your chin up for your girl.

I know what you're going through because my Grey has them, too. I have emergency injections here just in case. Hopefully your AV can give you some as well, and get them under control.

Well where to start. We were at the vet all day. She is stable. Blood work was fair, elevated liver enzymes probably due to extent of seizures. She is still lethargic, won't eat, and regurgitated forced food. She is on antibiotic, anti nausea, and a steroidal pain med. the main concern now is still wont move her feet. Doctors are concerned about brain injury, either tumor or lesion. We can't afford an MRI, but we wouldn't do brain surgery anyway. If it is a tumor she will get worse, if it is a lesion she should improve. The real nice thing is my vet clinic had 2 avian specialists, and an animal neurologist there. So we had 3 specialty consults.

Thanks to everyone for so many kind words and support. I learned a lot from Bonnie and Gemini when I posted about Graycie 2 years ago when I first learned of her seizures, amazing story. Although the ER vet gave calcium I injections, cuz that is the first thing that comes to mind with African Greysan; the specialty docs all think that at this point something much more is going on. This really does suck.

With my macaw, we were told the same, we could get an MRI, but there would be no surgery anyhow.
I hope hope hope Greycie comes through this and her seizures can be controlled with medication.

Unfortunately we never did get a FS light, she was going outside so much with us, and the seizures had decreased so much. We are obviously now doing tons of "we could have and should have" done different things. We will some very soon now.
