Sad night...our poor dog Piper passed away

Well...it's been a difficult night here. Our sweet 11 year old black lab Piper passed away this am at 1. She has been failing since the summer. She was a typical sweet and energetic lab who loved her family. I would say she was mostly my dog and I always said "she would follow me to the end of the earth". Well...we thought we would have to put her down in October but with medication she was "ok" until the last couple of weeks with decreased appetite etc. But yesterday am she seemed pretty good...begging for her share of the veggies when I was feeding the fids. She took a turn last night....my husband, son and I kept vigil..(my daughter couldn't...too hard for her)... Right till the end. Poor Piper...the last hour she was drooling, laboured breathing but she would put her snout to my mouth as if she was kissing me like she used to. God willing we will bury her on our property this am.

Words cant even express how heart broken I am for you and your family right now.

I have a 7 yr old lab, I just cant picture life without her.

My thoughts will be with you guuys today

I know you're only in NS but you must not have the same weather as us? We have over 3 feet of snow still.

I had to say goodbye to my chocolate lab Coco two years ago...it was very hard to do....

i'm so sorry for your loss. i just let my 12 (almost 13) yr old pup go thur. surely they'll meet, both being newly across the bridge. may they frolic together like pups again in the fields that lay over the bridge. keep her memory close to your heart.
