Does anyone know if peppermint extract (from the baking isle at the grocery store) is safe to use in a oil warmer in the same room as birds?
My son & I are both sick with a horrible cold & this is my go to cure for congestion....

I would not...but you can apply directly to your chest with a bit of coconut oil at night away from your birds...test a patch of skin first.

Thanks! I decided to wait for the peppermint oil & even then I will not use it in the same room as the birds. After reading a hundred different articles & speaking to a couple avian vets I keep getting different answers.... The extract comes from peppermint leaves being soaked in alcohol so that is a definite NO!
