Preening???

So my Grey Tyrion loves to preen ..he preens when ever he gets a chance ..but the funny thing is he gets to the point sometimes where he will get very forceful with his preening ...not pulling his feathers but aggressively going at them ..then all of a sudden stop and shake then go back to nicely preening ...then at the end he will pet himself for several minutes ...do any of your guys do this ?

Sometimes, my Grey will do this. I normally take it as a sign that she is starting to get itchy and spay her down with an aloe and water mixture. When she came to live with me she had a plucking issue, but she has since healed and her feathers have almost all grown back in.
