Pine Nut recall

Saw this on the news last night and ran into it again which reminded me to post it here. New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland; Wegman's markets is recalling 5000 pounds of Turkish Pine Nuts sold from July 1 through October 18. The recall is due to salmonella!

There is pine nuts in the goldenfeast mix I just added to my mix. I hope they weren't on the recall list

This is scary! I ordered a few pounds prior to July (I think. off to check invoices.) But are the ones we order (pet related) from Wegmans? I would think they come from different places. How would we find this out?

If I find the information for the questions being asked, I will put together an article. I really don't know how to find out where the pine nuts come from though.

says "recalled 5,000 pounds of pine nuts imported from Turkey by Sunrise Commodities of Englewood Cliffs, N.J. They were sold between July 1 and Oct. 18 at its stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland. "

Here is a copy and paste of the email reply I recieved from them this morning:

I have Good News! Our Pine Nuts is not from that supplier and is not affected by the recall.

Definitely safe, the recall is for the pignolias, which is the shelled
pine nut.
We do not purchase Turkish pine nuts, nor do we purchase pine nuts from
that particular importer.
