Parrotlets afraid of hands

A friend just recently got a 3 yr old male parrotlets that will step up if he flies to floor. But then flies right off again to go to his cage or another location. How can she help him not to run from her hands.

Says page not found, so much for the link. She can simply be patient as the bird does not trust her enough yet. It does recognize that it is dependent on her and as he becomes more secure he will begin to remain with her longer all on his own.

Stop using her hands. Offer an elbow or shoulder instead. Most small birds do not like hands.

Start by feeding millet or another favored treat by hand?

Or just dropping treats inside the cage any time she walks by?
