Parrot-proofing a large bachelor's windows?

I live in a bachelor in a city where the style is large windows lining the entire wall. In my old housing I had had separate rooms and my birds were large enough for print out pictures taped to windows to be an indicator of glass.
I was wondering how I can keep smaller parrots safe near these windows since I obviously cannot have a "parrot room" in a bachelor?

how about hanging a parrot climbing net in front of the windows?
you can google nets with different mesh sizes and also tutorials to make your own
